Welcome to the Western Port Uniting Church Parish Opportunity Shop at 149 Disney Street Crib Point, near the intersection of Stony Point Road and Disney Street.
Governance
Our Op Shop is a totally volunteer organisation that is governed by its constitution overseen by a Committee of Management (CoM) that meets monthly. The CoM reports to the Western Port Uniting Church Parish Council.
Our Offerings
You are invited to browse a dynamic and extensive range of new and pre-loved quality clothing and family accessories for all ages, a wide selection of household items and enjoy a friendly chat with our dedicated volunteer staff waiting to guide your retail journey.
Trading
The Shop is open for trading and quality donations Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 3.30 pm and Saturday 9.30 am to 1.00 pm.
The Shop is closed on public holidays and for a Christmas – New Year break.
Come in to look around at your convenience and enjoy our regular fantastic sales.
Our Op Shop is popular with local folks, regional shoppers and overseas visitors.
Donations
Quality donations are accepted with gratitude during the trading hours indicated above.
These include:-
Clothing – women’s, men’s and children’s
Bags, shoes, jewellery, and accessories
Books, CDs and DVDs
Homewares and goods
They bypass landfills and support our conservation and environmental principles.
We cannot accept furniture and electrical appliances.
No after hours dumping on the footpath – thanks.
Distribution of Funds
Our annual distribution of funds – donations and grants – support Parish missional activities, charitable organisations and agencies along with local community groups such as Western Port Community Support and many more.
Our donations and grants are ratified by the Western Port UC Parish Council.

Crib Point’s Op Shop 20th Anniversary – August 2026
The Western Port Uniting Church (UC) Parish (consisting of the Balnarring, Crib Point and Hastings UC’s) Opportunity Shop at Crib Point celebrates twenty (20) years of exceptional community service in August.
In early 2006, following several months of shop fitting by diligent church members, the Op Shop was officially opened by Rosy Buchanan MP on the 16th of August 2006. Through the generosity of the Burley family, the Parish was initially granted occupancy of the shop, then in 2018 the Uniting Church in Australia via the Parish purchased the property in Disney Street Crib Point. Subsequent to this acquisition, the Shop was re-dedicated during a Parish Service at Crib Point on Sunday 30th September 2018.
Since then, the Op Shop has faithfully served local communities trading five days a week with dedicated volunteer church and non-church staff, regular receipt and donations of household goods, clothing, and sundry items with substantial financial support to the Parish and numerous local community and church organisations.
The Op Shop is highly regarded across the Mornington Peninsula for its friendly staff, a wide range of excellent quality merchandise and annual donations and grants to the Parish, church agencies and projects, schools, kindergartens, welfare bodies, sporting groups and emergency services.
From inception, there has been a regular group of enthusiastic volunteers who operate as a team, drawing on their extraordinary skills and talents, working towards common goals to ensure the Op Shop’s success – more would be welcome to join our team at any time. They are, passionate, dependable, and committed to maintaining a sincere, safe, and inviting Shop environment devoting much of their personal time and expertise in supporting this essential community service. When sorting donations around the work table they often engage in warm hearted chat and share stories about items reminding them of grandparents.
Recently, a Committee of Management (CoM) was created consisting of church and non-church volunteers which provides leadership, direction, and accountability in Op Shop operations. It has a fundamental relationship between the Western Port UC Parish missional activities and community needs and expectations. Lately the Parish appointed a Volunteer Manager who oversees the general daily operations of the Op Shop and provides a vital liaison and reporting link between the volunteer workers, their team leaders, and the CoM.
Our Op Shop fulfills several social, economic, and environmental purposes in the vibrant Crib Point community. It is very much about people and is itself a place of purpose. It has become a meeting hub for people, is a source of premium quality sensibly priced sales and a drop off facility for superfluous items that otherwise may well go into undesirable landfill. Some donations are allocated to welfare bodies who distribute them to people in necessitous circumstances following natural disasters and hardship. As people visit, it has become a useful place for sharing Parish activities and community information.
It is expected the Op Shop with the support of the Parish and community will continue to fulfil this essential community service well into the future.
